Pixies with Fat, Evil Children
Iroquois Amphitheater
Louisville, KY
September 22nd, 2026
Iconic, beloved rock band Pixies made a stop in Louisville, KY on September 22nd for an official pre-party for Bourbon and Beyond Festival. The evening was a celebration of Pixies 40th year as a band and the crowd was ready! The amphitheater is the perfect concert setting, surrounded by the beautiful Iroquois Park and the weather was a perfect, fall-like temperature! There were a steady stream of fans rolling into the venue once the doors opened, with many taking the time to buy food, drinks, and peruse the merchandise that the band’s had for sale. Opening the show this evening was LA indie-rock band Fat, Evil Children. Performing a mix of rock, pop, and folk, the band had a good energy and crowd interaction, making for a great way to kick off the evening! Pixies then took the stage to a roar of cheers and applause. Having been a band for 4 decades, they have amassed a large, steady, and loyal fan base, with much of the crowd this evening dancing and singing a long to each song.
The band started things off with “In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)”, a Peter Ivers and David Lynch Cover, followed by their hit song “Here Comes Your Man”. They performed several fan favorites this evening, including “Wave Of Mutilation”, “Velouria”, “Head On”, and “Where Is My Mind?”, along with a varied mix of songs that spanned their extensive catalog. With singer/guitarist Black Francis speaking very little throughout the evening, the band let the music drive the set, performing an impressive 27-song set list! It was a really fantastic evening of music, full of a fun energy from the crowd that made the evening an unforgettable experience!
